UTILA BAY ISLAND (24/02/09 - 26/02/09)

After a week of being really unwell Liz decided it was time to visit the doctor. However we were by now on a small island just off the North coast of Honduras. This is the doctor´s surgery on the island. We arrived at 10 am, opening time, only to be told that "Doctor John" wasn´t a morning person. He finally arrived about 1pm and we left with a bag of drugs about 2.30pm! You will pleased to know that Liz has now fully recovered.

The bustle of Utila´s main street.

Utila is most famous for diving and snorkelling but while Liz was recovering we just took leisurely walks along the beach.

The water was crystal clear and very warm.

The lawn of our seaside hotel was covered in large crab holes. They were very shy although one did pook out to say hello!

On our walks we saw several species of beautiful butterflies. Adam thinks this is a Zebra Heliconian but he could be wrong.

Adam having a well deserved beer after looking after a sick Liz for well over a week. He didn´t even get a beer on his birthday :-(

Liz on soft drinks only because of the antibiotics but at least a smile and some colour in her cheeks (other than green!).

Sunset from the hotel dock. A beautiful sight, but unfortunately we were bitten half to death by sand flies and we are still itching a week later!
