JOURNEY FROM RIOBAMBA, ECUADOR, TO PIURA, PERU (31/05/09 & 01/06/09)
Up at 4.30am, seven hours from Riobamba to Cuenca, another seven hours from Cuenca to Loja, a brief overnight stay in Loja before another nine hours to Piura in Peru. Here´s our bus crossing the bridge on the border as we went through immigration.
This part of the border is divided by a river. We were slightly sad to be leaving Ecuador (on the left) but excited to be starting a new journey in a new country - Peru (on the right).
I have just been looking at all your amazing pictures again, this must be the 3rd or 4th time, its all incredibly interesting, you are both very lucky to have had the opportunity to do this trip in the Galapagos thank you for sharing all of this with us.
