The small town of Ticul (18/01/09)
This is the main square in Ticul. We managed to totally escape the tourists, infact we were the only ones there. There was not much to do in the town but we spent several pleasant hours sitting in the square watching the locals get on with their business.
The huge church which dominates the town. It would be suprising if there were enough people living there to fill all the seats.
These statues were on almost every corner of the roads. They were all of Mayan warriors.
