JOURNEY FROM GRANADA TO OMETEPE VOLCANIC ISLAND (03/03/09)
A long day of travelling was ahead of us from Granada to the island of Ometepe in the middle of lake Nicaragua. This is the first of 2 chicken buses then a ferry, then another bus. Safely balanced on top are all our bags.
Considering this is a lake it was incredibly choppy due to the high winds and we had quite a bumpy ferry ride.
Our first view of the volcanic island of Ometepe. It is made up of 2 large dormant volcanoes joined by a narrow strip of land.
The largest of the 2 volcanoes, Volcan Concepcion.
On our way to the hotel we got stuck in a traffic jam.
Once we had arrived we went for a short afternoon walk.
The setting sun created some beautiful colours.

You will never complain about the buses in Windsor after travelling the way you are? Thankyou for your card I have shown it to all the family, Ian seems to be coping ok but I am sure still very painful for him when going back to his mums. Enjoy love to you both xxx
