MOSSMAN GORGE AND BARRON FALLS (04/10/09)

Mossman Gorge is a stretch of river where the water is bright green and the water spectacularly crashes through a narrow gorge. Unfortunately due to the severe drought there was no rushing water and a dangerously decayed bridge meant that we couldn't access the main section of the gorge. Oh well, you can't win them all... we (Adam) satisfied ourselves by clambering about on the rounded boulders.

A Bush Turkey. These curious but immensely stupid birds are delightful, and very amusing, to watch for a while.

Back down the Captain Cook Highway from Port Douglas we once again set up camp on the outskirts of Cairns. From there we headed over to Barron Falls - spectacular and huge.

On the roadside Adam spotted these termite nests- spectacular and huge.
